1. Screencast-0-Matic: This is going to make life so much easier for me! It is such a hassle to try to recap for students who were absent something we did on the computer that required multiple steps. Now I can just make a video using Screencast-o-Matic and post it to my Google classroom or Weebly. This would also be awesome for students to use in case they miss a step or are trying to do something at home.
2. Future Me: I teach a unit about "Leaving a Legacy" and the students discuss what they want their legacies to be. This would be an awesome tool to use to have the students write a letter to themselves about what type of legacy they want to leave and then have then send it to their future selves to see if they achieve what they wanted.
3. PinWords: I think this would be a fun tool for students to use for a book project or to analyze characters. They could do character analysis and make a meme of a character and/or use a quote from the book to put on their poster. I can just imagine the cool things those artsy, visual learners could come up with. I also want to use this for online scrapbooking!
4. Symbaloo: Currently, our team uses buttons on our Weebly with hyperlinks to list commonly used websites that we use throughout the year. This is okay, but it gets a little confusing because the students have to be on a certain page and have to do a lot of scrolling. It would be so much easier to create a Symbaloo with all our websites. It would be an easy one stop shop that the students could easily use!
5. Cueprompter: I am so excited to show this to my students. I think it will really excited those that are very nervous about speaking in front of the class. I think this tool will make it fun for them and give them something else to focus on instead of thinking about the crowd their facing. I also want to share this with my husband. He is working on a documentary and this could be a helpful tool to use when they film.
6. ScreenLeap: My mom and dad call me ALL THE TIME with computer issues. They call me because they know I am the most patient person in the family and will walk they through whatever the issue is. It never was much of an issue until they got a new computer. It's super frustrating to me now because their computer has Windows 8 and my computer has Windows 7; MEGA challenge! This is going to save me from so much irritation, because now I will be able to see their screen and hopefully solve their issues in no time!
7. 10 Minute Mail: Cut down on the junk mail? YES please! I can't wait to share this with my husband. He absolutely HATES to give out his email when signing up for things. This is going to blow his mind and totally earn me "cool wife" brownie points!
8. Copy Paste Character: Now I can be like the "cool kids" with cute pictures inserted into my online posts! I have always been envious of the people on Facebook and other sites that used those emojis and special characters to spice up their posts. Now I can do that too! I am totally going to annoy and make my friends jealous with my cute characters!
